EN 12413

The EN 12413 standard, titled "Safety requirements for bonded abrasive products," establishes safety requirements for bonded rotating abrasive products such as grinding wheels, cutting discs, and mounted points. Its aim is to prevent accidents and injuries during the use of these products.

FOR WHAT TYPE OF WORK IS IT APPROPRIATE

For angle grinders of any power.

Simply with a light pressure, a very good cutting quality is achieved in construction materials.

The cutting discs are very resistant to impacts and prevent fragmentation during continuous cutting operations.

USES AND APPLICATIONS

• Grinding and leveling of weld beads on all types of metals, removal of burrs.

• Grinding of hard layers on surfaces and deep oxidations. They are designed to be used in polishing or cutting tools, both pneumatic and electric, whose maximum rotational speed is from 8,500 to 13,300 RPM (depending on size).

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Do not use cutting discs on tools without protective guards. The guard must cover at least half of the disc. Never exceed the maximum rotational speed of the disc. Do not tighten the disc too much when installing it on the machine, as this could cause breakage.

The disc should not be forced against the workpiece during the cutting process until it reaches the point of stopping or the machine motor stops. Only make straight cuts, do not bend the disc. Do not rest the machine on the disc when storing it. Before installing the disc, check it for cracks.

STORAGE

This product should be stored in its original packaging, in a place where the temperature is between 15°C and 26°C and the humidity is between 35% and 50%.

It should also be kept away from the ground, windows, and external walls. Improper storage can cause a significant reduction in the quality of this product.

EXPOSURE CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION

1. Eye protection: Use safety glasses to prevent metallic particles or disc fragments from entering the eyes during the cutting or grinding process.

2. Hand protection: Use gloves.

3. Skin protection: Avoid contact with skin from dust and metal shavings generated.

4. Respiratory protection: Use authorized respirators. In this case, a dust respirator.

5. Ingestion: Not applicable.

6. Recommended ventilation: Provide adequate extraction.
