PATES USES

There are different places and facilities within the workplace where access is complicated and different elements are required to form an access staircase, as is the case of thepad for manholes 300mm (ref. MH1), which allows access to sanitation wells, tanks, sewage manholes, manholes, rooftops, swimming pools, docks, underground chambers of electrical or telephone networks, service galleries, etc.

Hepad for wells and silos 300mm (ref. MH1)it is a model that is made of copolymer polypropylene reinforced with steel, designed to be used on both curved and straight surfaces and has an ergonomic, robust, compact design and great resistance to impacts. To increase safety, it has a non-slip surface and side fins, in addition to having a hitting stop for the correct introduction of the kick.

Thanks to its simple system, it can be customized to the client's liking, taking into account that it complies with the European quality standard EN 13101, F1 calibration with a hardness of 65kg/mm². American ASTM C-478 and C-497 and German DIN 19555.

Its assembly is carried out very quickly and easily, since it is enough to make two holes with a heavy hammer drill 85 mm deep with a 25 mm diameter drill bit at a measurement of 300 mm between the center of the holes and insert the kick by striking the stops alternately with a large nylon mallet.

Currently the300mm silo pad (ref. MH1)it is used for a large number of applications within the work environment, this particular model being characterized by being of the highest quality, offering great resistance and durability, making the entrance to any type of well, silo or manhole accessible through steps with legs.

Thanks to this access element, being able to reach certain areas within a work environment will be much simpler and more comfortable for the professional, who will not have to resort to moving stairs to access a basement, swimming pools, a silo or a well. , among others, with the convenience of not having to carry a ladder from one place to another and offering greater security by being attached to the wall.

In any case, when proceeding with its installation, the professional must make sure that all the pieces are perfectly fastened to each other and to the wall, thus avoiding a problem that could lead to a work accident.

Real-life example or analogy: Imagine you have a well in your yard that you need to access frequently for maintenance. Instead of having to climb or use a ladder every time you need to enter, you can install polypropylene steps/rungs around the well. These steps will allow you to go up and down safely and comfortably, facilitating access to the well.

PATÉ LADDER INSTALLATION

Do you want to know how our polypropylene feet are installed?

Follow our advice and you will see how by following a few simple steps you will be able to install your own step ladder for any vertical surface: wells, silos, ports, water tanks, confined spaces..

Remember that at IVERNA we also have accessories such as templates, drill bits or special drills to facilitate and make the installation of our polypropylene legs even more comfortable.

Necessary materials:

  • Drill
  • Drill bit for concrete or corrugated steel, 25 mm diameter.
  • Nylon mallet.
  • Graduated bubble level ruler.
  • Marker and meter.
  • Any step from our Eco Pate or Pate Sugar range

STEP 1

With the help of the bubble level ruler, we mark the ends where the step will be inserted, taking the center of the rod as a reference. Depending on the model, the distance will be 300 mm, 320 mm, 330 mm. 340 mm and 380 mm, center to center.

STEP 2

We repeat the process with each step, leaving a recommended distance of 250 mm between steps.

STEP 3

Once the marks have been made, we drill with a 25 mm diameter concrete or corrugated steel drill bit to a depth of 850 mm, leaving a perfect hole for the insertable part of our step.

If these holes are not made accurately (e.g. too large) the step will not hold. In this case, the drilled or formed hole must be filled with mortar/putty or chemical plug.

STEP 4

We fit the step with several firm blows on the striking stop. Once fixed, we will hit the same stops up to the total depth of insertion, so that only the rectangular or round part of the step is visible.

The ends of the anchor are round and slightly tapered. They act like harpoons, once in place, which ensures that the step remains completely immobile.

STEP 5

You now have your foot ladder ready to be used.

If installed correctly, the steps will resist tensile forces exceeding 800 Kg!

Some rules and recommendations for installing pates

As there may be special conditions at the installation site, unknown to us, our general instructions do not make us responsible for the final assembly of the step.

Our PATE-SUGAR is preferably recommended in manhole holes, both for sewers and drains, and for any other type of underground registry.

The measures applied and anti-slip projections are in accordance with the safety regulations applied in all countries. These measurements also allow drilling precast concrete rings, without exceeding their normal thickness.

Water collection wells even when these steps are permanently submerged. The quality of the materials used in the manufacture of PATE-SUGAR does not produce any contamination or oxidation.

The step is mainly for urban sanitation use, but we manufacture other PATES models to cover other needs such as:

  • Marine PATES for use in marinas and nuclear power plants.
  • Mountain PATES for outdoor use with extra ultraviolet protection.
  • PATES for outdoor mounting with extra ultraviolet protection.
  • Insertable PATES for non-concrete wells.
