STANDARDS AND APPROVALS

3MTM series 5 and X5 face shields comply with the requirements of PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and bear the CE marking. These products have been examined by DIN CERTCO Gesellschaft für Konformitätsbewertung mbH, Alboinstrasse 56, 12103, Berlin (Germany) (notified body number 0196). The 3MTM 5 and X5 series have been tested and approved in accordance with EN 166:2001.

Filtering performance:

5 = welding filter, tone 5 (EN 169) 2C-1.2 = UV filter, tone 1.2 (EN 170) 5-3.1 = anti-reflective filter, tone 3.1 (EN 172)

Optical clarity:

The permitted variation in refractive powers for eye devices shall be assessed during product certification. Class 1 is the highest performance class in terms of optical clarity.

Performance against impacts:

The 5E-11, 5F-11 and X5 series meet the high-speed particle protection requirement for medium power impacts (brand B) [120 m/s]). In addition, the X5-SV series meets this requirement after conditioning for a temperature range of 55 °C to -5 °C (brand BT). Model 5A-CP meets the requirement of high-speed particle protection for low power impacts (mark F) [45 m/s]).

Fields of use:

Facial screens of the 5 series meet the optional requirements for protection against liquid splashes (brand 3).

Optional requirements:

The 5A-CP and X5 series meet the anti-fouling requirements (brand N). In addition, the X5 series meets the requirements for resistance to surface damage due to fine particulate matter (mark K).
