Description

Other, of circular cross-section 3M. What. Our 3MTM Fiber 501C is a versatile, general-purpose metallurgical abrasive, designed to assist with a variety of applications, from grinding, weld removal and finishing to blending in metals such as carbon steel. Grain: P24 to P120.

The 3M501C fiber discTM includes a sharpened zirconium aluminium mineral in a durable fiber support, making it ideal for welding extraction and for other medium pressure applications, such as shaving or rust removal. Zirconium aluminum offers fast cutting and a consistent finish in mild steel, but can also be used with good results in stainless steel.

Supply: 5 to 10 working days

CHARACTERISTICS

  • We gave the 3M501C fiber disc sticky resistant resin to provide durability and long abrasive life for demanding operations such as corner grinding.
  • Zirconium aluminium is frequently fractured to continuously produce sharp points and offer a faster cutting rate than aluminium oxide.
  • This synthetic mineral was developed for removal of heavy debris and high-pressure grinding.
  • Fiber discs are hard discs that offer fast cutting for soldering and extrusion, and come in a wide range of sizes, corresponding to large or small solders.
  • Fiber discs also work well for mixing (creating a smooth surface after the weld is removed) and provide a consistent finish on the workpiece.
  • The heavyweight fibre backing is strong and durable.
  • Versatile abrasive can address many applications, from grinding to mixing and more.
  • Closed-layer construction provides good grain density and helps provide a finer finish.
  • The resin bond resists heat and stabilizes the disc under pressure and heat to increase productivity.
  • Available in a wide variety of grades

BENEFITS

  • Aluminium zirconium is broken down to produce a consistent sharp edge that cuts faster than aluminum oxide and is suitable for removing material in all metals, including stainless steel
  • Its rigid fibre support provides the necessary durability for solder extraction and for other applications such as shaving or rust removal
  • Its durable resin binder resists heat deterioration, increases disc life and provides excellent mineral retention for edge grinding
  • The closed layer provides an extension of service life and the central hole mount is compatible with disc pad plates 3Mtm and axles, and requires the use of a disc fastening nut (all sold separately)
  • Durable and Reliable
  • We design 3MTM Fiber 501C adhering alumina-zirconia mineral to a fiber support using resin. Closed layer construction in 3MTM Fiber 501C means that mineral grains cover almost 100% of the backing. The rigid fibre backing is extremely durable: vulcanized, hardened and condensed before being coated with mineral. It resists wear and tends not to yield or deflect when working, which helps the abrasive to stay strong, especially when grinding and finishing the edges.
  • Tips for Optimal Use
  • Collectively, fiber abrasives are rigid and provide a quick cut for grinding and removing welds, and come in a variety of sizes to match large or small welds. Fiber discs also work well for smoothing (creating a smooth surface after removing the weld) and provide a uniform finish over the workpiece. This fiber can be cut to fit a variety of portable tools, making it easy to access the workpiece.

APPLICATIONS

When it comes to our fiber product offerings 3Mtm, we recommend that operators choose the appropriate performance level for the unique needs of their project. 3MTM Fiber 501C offers a cost-effective solution for a general-purpose metallurgical disc, as it can perform well in a variety of projects without sacrificing performance. Given its versatility, you'll find that 3MTM Fiber is applicable in many markets. As evidenced by its use in the marine, metallurgical and maintenance repair operations industries, it is an excellent multi-purpose disc that is good to have on hand.
