FILTER SELECTION

FILTER DURABILITY

The filters used in industrial environments have a lifespan that depends on factors such as humidity, concentration of contaminants in the environment, temperature, usage time… and should be replaced when breathing resistance is noticed or if there is a smell or taste of the contaminant being exposed to. Given the variety of work environments, each with its own characteristics, we cannot accurately indicate the durability of the filters.

Generally, the lifespan of the filters is 5 years from manufacturing, but it is recommended not to use them beyond 6 months from their first use unless one of the reasons for their replacement indicated in the previous paragraph has been met. (The lifespan of an unopened chemical filter is usually indicated on its label. Once the filter is unsealed, even if not used, it has a maximum duration of 6 months, regardless of the expiration date indicated).

FILTER OPTIONS

• The reusable half masks of the 6500QL series from 3MTM can be used with a variety of different filter options: Gas and vapor filters only: filters generally protect against one or several types of contaminants. The gas and vapor filters of the 6000 series from 3MTM fit directly onto the respirator.
• Particle filters only: these filters provide protection against non-volatile solid and liquid particles. The particle filters of the 2000 series from 3MTM fit directly onto the respirator. The 5000 Series Particle Filters from 3MTM can be used in combination with a 501 filter retainer from 3MTM and a 6000 Series Gas and Vapor Filter from 3MTM.
• The 6035 and 6038 particle filters from 3MTM are encapsulated P3 filters that fit directly onto the respirator. Combination of gas, vapor, and particle filters: The gas, vapor, and particle filters from 3MTM 6091, 6092, 6095, and 6096 have integrated particle filter media with the gas and vapor cartridge.
• The 3MTM 6038 particle filter is an encapsulated particle filter with a layer of carbon for low-capacity gas protection.
• Air supply mode: all filters can be used with the 3MTM S-200+ air supply regulator except for the P1 (5911) and P2 (5925, 2125, and 2128).
