White Scotch-Weld Reactive Polyurethane Adhesive TS230 3M

The PUR adhesive 3MTM Scotch-WeldTM TS230 is a 100% solid, moisture-curing structural adhesive designed to bond wood and certain plastics.

Its 100% solid formula is highly resistant to plasticizers and binds a wide variety of substrates, both similar and different in nature. Our family of single-component reactive polyurethane (PUR) adhesives begin to cure when exposed to moisture. Unlike bicomponent reactive adhesives, moisture cured polyurethanes are not as significantly affected by temperature as by humidity.

If the relative humidity is below 40% and the porosity of the substrate is very low, the curing rate may be radically reduced due to less moisture available in the surrounding environment. The way that moisture-cured polyurethane adhesives cure varies slightly but significantly from water- or solvent-based adhesives. These adhesives heal by a chemical and mechanical bond.

APPLICATIONS

These adhesives are applied hardened and strongly bind different substrates such as wood, fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) and many other plastics to themselves, in addition to metal and glass.

Both the cream and black versions are extruded or sprayable and provide a prolonged opening time and fastening of parts. This gives you more time to place the parts or joints and fit them perfectly before they heal completely.
