INSTALLATION
For all signage to be effective and fulfill its purpose, it must be placed in the appropriate location so that:
- It attracts the attention of those who are the intended recipients of the information.
- It provides information with sufficient advance notice to be complied with. - It is clear and has a unique interpretation.
- It informs about the course of action in each specific case.
- It offers a real possibility of compliance. Signage should remain as long as the situation that motivates it persists and be removed when the situation that motivated it disappears. The presence of multiple signs or any other circumstance that hinders perception or understanding must be taken into account so that it does not affect the effectiveness of the signage. When there is a generalized need to signal different safety aspects in a specific work area, signs may be located together at the entrance to that area, grouping them by types of signs, for example, prohibitions separated from danger warnings and obligations, as long as such groupings do not lead to misinterpretation or obscure the necessary information intended to be conveyed. This system does not replace the necessary signage of specific risk points that may exist within the work area. Signage means and devices must be maintained and supervised so that they retain their intrinsic qualities and functionality at all times. When the sign requires a power source for its effectiveness, it must have an alternative emergency supply system in case of interruption of the main source. A maintenance and periodic review program must be established to control the correct state and application of the signage and ensure that it is regularly cleaned, repaired, and/or replaced, as well as supervised for its application, always considering any changes in working conditions. This program should be included in the general periodic review program of the workplaces. Before its implementation, all workers should be trained and informed so that they are aware of it. The training or information that must be provided for the correct application of the signage does not replace the employer's obligation to train and inform workers about risks, as established in articles 18 and 19 of Law 31/1995, of November 8.
Signs can be installed using adhesives, neutral silicones, or mechanical means, depending on the surface where they need to be installed. If adhesives are used, ensure that the area where it will be applied is free of dust, grease, and roughness, as these are the arch-enemies of any type of adhesive.
Other installation options, to increase the viewing angle of the sign, would be the installation of banners or panoramic signs made of plastic or aluminum. If you would like more information about these supports, please let us know.
STORAGE, CLEANING, AND CONSERVATION
The working temperature should not exceed 45º C. Higher temperatures may deform the supporting material.
The optimal storage temperature should be between 15º C and 25º C; with a humidity of 10/50%.
Cleaning methods; avoid using abrasive products. It is recommended to clean them with water and neutral detergents.
