Sensitivity solution, sweet FT11 (6 solutions) 3M. The FT-11 Sensitivity Solution from 3M is used to test the sensitivity of someone wearing a respirator to a saccharin solution. It is used with the FT-10 Qualitative Fit Test Apparatus from 3M and the FT-20 Fit Test and Training Hood from 3M.

The test kits and their accessories are designed to help your organization meet the testing requirements for respirators. The products can be used to check the face seal with the respirator on any particulate or gas/vapor respirator with a particulate prefilter.

FEATURES

• 3M™ offers two qualitative fit test kits: FT-10 (sweet) and FT-30 (bitter). The FT-10 uses a test solution with sodium saccharin, which produces a sweet-tasting aerosol; and the FT-30 uses denatonium benzoate, which produces a very bitter taste.
• The choice between the sweet and bitter test kit is a personal matter, although it is important to know that a small percentage of the population is unable to detect saccharin, in which case the bitter test should be used.

• It is used to test whether the user can detect the fit test solution. There are two versions available, as a small percentage of the population cannot detect sodium saccharin, in which case the bitter solution should be used (or vice versa).

• 3M™ recommends that users undergo a fit test before using a mask and that the test be repeated periodically as part of the occupational respiratory protection program.
