  • Replacement hoods, nebulizers, and solutions for fit testing kits are available.
  • For occupational use only
3M™ recommends that users undergo a facial fit test before using a mask and that the test be repeated periodically as part of the occupational respiratory protection program. Follow all applicable national and other guidelines regarding facial fit testing.

MODE OF USE

The products can be used to validate the face-to-mask seal on any disposable mask or half mask. For the half mask fit test, the mask must be equipped with a P3 particulate filter for testing. 3M™ offers two qualitative fit test kit kits: FT-10 (sweet) and FT-30 (bitter).
The FT-10 uses a sodium saccharin test solution that produces a sweet-tasting aerosol. The FT-30 uses a denatonium benzoate test solution that produces a bitter taste. The choice between bitter and sweet test kit is personal. However, a small percentage of the population cannot detect saccharin, in which case the bitter test kit should be used (and, vice versa, if bitter cannot be detected, sweet should be used).
3M recommends that users undergo a facial fit test before using a mask and that the test be repeated periodically as part of the occupational respiratory protection program. Follow all applicable national and other guidelines regarding facial fit testing. If not available, consult ISO 16975-3 or contact 3M.
