A roll of masking tape is an essential item in every toolbox or materials room at any construction site, warehouse, military or marine installation, shipping center, or retailer.

Scotch® 214 High Temperature Masking Tape performs excellently on a wide variety of treated metals and at high temperatures, as well as in stain-resistant applications and can generally withstand heating cycles of up to 177°C for one hour even on treated metals. The crepe paper backing cuts easily, offers reasonable formability, and peels off cleanly.

Natural rubber adhesive sticks well to paper, metal, plaster, wood and painted surfaces with a very reliable adhesion ability that resists lifting and curling.
Under normal conditions of use, the adhesive tape can be removed from a piece and is resistant to fragmentation.

CHARACTERISTICS

• Protective adhesive tape was specifically developed to help protect surrounding surfaces from over-spraying, providing clean paint lines and removing easily and cleanly when finished.
• Our masking tapes offer very good adhesion, resistance to solvents or water from the paint and are strong enough to attach layers of plastic but at the same time can be removed cleanly without damaging the surface underneath.
• The backing, usually made of crepe paper, can adapt to curved and irregular surfaces.
• The tape can be cut by hand, so it can be applied without tools. Masking tapes should indicate the surfaces to which they can adhere and for what period they can be cleanly removed.
• Tapes that are very thin or poorly manufactured may break or fragment when detached from the roll or removed after use.
• Some masking tapes have the tensile strength needed for light commercial and industrial applications, such as bundling, labeling, sealing, interim repairs, lane marking, splicing, and surface protection.
• Traditional crepe paper masking tape is a light brown color, but ours is offered in a variety of colors and formulations to meet all kinds of general and specific needs.
