The 3M Xtract™ 236U sanding disc is excellent for homogenization and finishing applications on aluminum and carbon steel, as well as for intermediate removal and intensive material removal and finishing work on hardwoods, softwoods, and composites in woodworking applications. Our Clean Sanding discs also perform well on primers, paints, sealants, coatings, fiberglass, and plastics. The durable C-weight paper backing of our 3M Xtract 236U sanding disc allows for aggressive sanding and reduces edge wear. An open coat means there is space between the abrasive grains for dust to escape rather than accumulate on the cutting edge of the grains.

The clog-resistant coating allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwood, paint, and other materials that would typically clog the disc and reduce its sanding capacity. Sanding discs cut better and last longer when dust does not accumulate on the cutting surface of the abrasives. Reducing dust is easier than ever with 3M Xtract discs, designed for optimal dust removal. For maximum dust extraction, use this disc with a 3M Xtract backing pad and a dust-extracting random orbital sander (sold separately).
