STORAGE

It is recommended that all coated abrasive products be stored with constant levels of temperature and humidity, between 18 and 22 °C and at relative humidity between 50% and 65%. They should be kept away from walls, windows, or damp (or cold) floors to avoid possible moisture absorption. Similarly, storage near heat sources, such as steam pipes, radiators, hot air ducts, ovens, etc., should be avoided. It is best to store the product in its original packaging until it is to be used. Under these conditions, its shelf life is indefinite.

SAFETY

Whenever possible, sanding should be carried out in a well-ventilated area, and it is strongly recommended to wear goggles, dust masks, and appropriate gloves. Discs should only be used on machines with a suitable backing pad designed specifically and in good maintenance condition at all times. Abrasive discs must be symmetrically arranged and should not protrude more than 2 mm from the outer edge of the backing pad. Damaged or deformed abrasive discs or backing pads should not be used. Neither the discs nor the pads should be modified in any way. They should only be used in their original size and shape, as supplied. It is recommended to use the discs only on backing pads that clearly indicate the maximum allowed operating speed. The indicated speed should not be exceeded. When operating the machines, the disc should be held at the minimum possible angle to the workpiece. Care should be taken to ensure that discs without a central hole are mounted centered on the backing pad. In the case of self-adhesive discs, care should be taken to ensure that neither the adhesive nor the face of the backing pad is contaminated with dust or other foreign substances before mounting. If applicable, the "shelf life" indicated by the manufacturer should not be exceeded. Before starting a pneumatic machine, if used with self-adhesive discs, it should be held firmly, and the disc should be slightly in contact with the work area. If not in use, disc sanding machines should be placed on a specifically designed stand, or alternatively, they should be placed face up. They should not be placed with the disc or the face of the pad in contact with the floor or workbench.
