APPLICATIONS AND INTENDED USE

These products are intended for protection against various hazards, including low-energy impact (F) when used as spectacles with paddles or medium-energy impact (B) when used as a mask with a fastener and a joint. These products also provide protection in extreme temperatures between -5 °C and +55 °C (T) according to EN 166:2001.

When used as glasses with a TPE strap and joint, these assembly options also provide protection against liquid droplets or splashes (3) and large dust particles (4), which comply with EN 166:2001. These products also help to protect against UV rays according to EN 170:2002 (colorless and amber lenses) and against glare according to EN 172:1994 (grey lenses for indoor/outdoor use).

INTENDED USE

The 3MTM SolusTM 1000 lenses have been designed to provide a higher level of protection against scratches and fogging thanks to the 3MTM ScotchgardTM coating, which meets the requirements of the markings 'K' for anti-scratch protection (AS) and 'N' for anti-fog treatment (AF) according to EN166:2001. Autoclave sterilisation: limited internal tests have been carried out on samples, subjecting them to 10, 20, 30 and 40 automatic cleaning and autoclave disinfection and sterilisation cycles at 121 °C. The tests assessed the following characteristics:

• Mechanical performance (BT)

• Antifouling properties (N)

• Anti-scratch properties (K)

• Optical performance

The claims are valid according to the results of internal tests. NOTE: Autoclave sterilisation has only been tested on safety glasses (Solus 1101SGAF-EU and Solus 1201SGAF-EU). NO tests were performed on the foam pad or the strap.
