NORMS

EN 388:2016+A1:2018 1212X

The EN 388:2016+A1:2018 standard with classification 1212X identifies a glove aimed at light handling tasks that require basic resistance to accidental cuts. While it stands out for offering a cut resistance (Coupe) of level 2, making it slightly superior to entry-level models, it is essential to warn the user that its abrasion resistance (level 1) and tear resistance (level 1) are low, implying that the material will wear out quickly under friction or constant tension. With a puncture resistance of level 2, it provides moderate defense against small punctures, but lacking the TDM test (X), it should not be used in heavy industrial environments, construction, or handling sharp edges intensively.

EN 511 cl. 5.2 Flexibility behavior (-20°C)

Clause 5.2 of the EN 511 standard evaluates the glove's behavior regarding its flexibility after being exposed to extremely low temperatures (-20°C). Unlike usual thermal protection levels (such as convective or contact cold), this technical test certifies that the glove material does not harden, become rigid, or lose its ability to move when working in freezing environments.

EN 511:2006 11X

The EN 511:2006 standard with classification 11X defines a glove with basic thermal protection against cold, designed for environments where low temperatures are mild and do not pose an extreme health risk. It offers a minimum level of protection (level 1) against both convective cold—derived from air currents—and contact cold—when handling cold objects—making it suitable only for brief exposures or cool climates, but not for cold storage rooms or severe winter conditions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT TEGERA 9190 Synthetic Leather Gloves

Do they insulate enough for outdoor work in winter?

They have a winter fleece lining and are aimed at work in cold environments. If you will be standing for a long time or in intense cold, it is advisable to assess the level of insulation you need and combine it with appropriate thermal layers or breaks.

How is the fit at the wrist and what is the purpose of the long cuff?

The Velcro® closure allows for wrist adjustment so that the glove does not move when handling loads or tools. The long cuff adds coverage in the wrist area and helps reduce the entry of air and dirt.

Can they be used in humidity or light rain?

They include a water-repellent finish and moisture resistance, designed for splashes or moderately humid conditions. For work with continuous rain or prolonged contact with water, it is preferable to use a glove with a specific waterproof barrier.
