SECURITY CABINETS FOR LITHIUM ION BATTERY STORAGE

FEATURES

To ensure the safety of people and property, we have created a secure storage solution for lithium-ion batteries. In fact, lithium-ion batteries have the particularity of presenting many risks, the most well-known and frequent of which is thermal runaway that can be caused by an increase in ambient temperature, a shock, or a battery assembly issue.

The consequence is that the battery can dangerously ignite and cause a fire.

Based on our experience and knowledge of fireproof cabinets according to the European standard EN14470-1 for 105 minutes, we offer several models of different sizes that can meet the widest variety of storage needs. These cabinets can be equipped, as needed, with perforated shelves (with a high load capacity - 100 kg per level) and containment sumps at the bottom of the cabinet to prevent possible damage from electrolyte leaks from the battery. There is also the possibility of recharging the stored batteries through the rack's power strips.

The exceptional fire resistance of our cabinets (105 minutes under European testing) guarantees maximum safety. However, it is possible to further secure the storage by adding optional solutions such as:

• Internal safety extinguisher in the special lithium-ion battery cabinet (ref. EX100LI or EX200LI)

• Or the safety set that includes the extinguisher, a visual and audible alarm, smoke detector, control box, and a cable pass-through at the top of the cabinet PINTOLI ref. (VIG190 or VIG290).

• Non-flammable insulating panels, classified A1 according to NF EN ISO 1182, between the walls.

CONSTRUCTION

• Double-walled 12/10 steel construction.

• 20 mm thick mineral fiber insulation according to NF EN ISO 1182.

• Security and alarm unit that includes visual and audible alarm, control box, automatic smoke detector, extinguisher, and cable duct (Ref. VIG190 or VIG290)

VENTILATION

All cabinet models are equipped with ventilation holes, allowing them to connect to a ventilation system. Forced ventilation is highly recommended to avoid internal heat buildup or vapor stagnation in case of electrolyte leaks. This can be connected to an external outlet or a ventilation box or filter.

APPLICATIONS

There are four types of use, depending on your needs:

• Simple battery storage: cabinet equipped with perforated shelves and a containment sump.

• Battery storage and charging: cabinet equipped with perforated shelves, a containment sump, and power outlet racks + PEXTBALI50 (maximum cable entry 4 x 8 mm).

• Simple battery storage + advanced protection system: cabinet equipped with perforated shelves with containment sump + optional advanced protection system (either an extinguisher or a safety set that includes visual and audible alarm, control box, automatic smoke detector, extinguisher, and cable pass-through).

• Battery storage and charging + advanced protection system: cabinet equipped with perforated shelves, a containment sump, and power outlet racks + optional advanced protection system (either an extinguisher or a safety set that includes visual and audible alarm, control box, automatic smoke detector, extinguisher, and cable pass-through).

TECHNICAL DATA

All contaminating liquids must be stored in tanks that have a retention capacity of at least 50% of the volume of such liquid, and the retention capacity for flammable or combustible liquids contained in mobile containers of 250 L or less must be at least 800 liters.

The containment sump must have controlled tightness and must withstand the physicochemical properties of the material it contains. Its storage is governed by chemical incompatibilities and established safety standards.

In case of fire, the cabinets must not be moved except by firefighters.
