The composite of Scotch-SealTM 2229 3Mtm is a sticky, thick and highly adaptable putty tape on a liner that is easily removed. It is suitable for insulating, matting and sealing objects that need to be protected against adverse environmental conditions. It can withstand temperatures up to 90 °C.

The mastic tape 3MTM Scotch-SealTM 2229 is a UV-resistant tape with a rubber backing. It offers good self-repair properties after cutting or puncturing.

The tape's sticky paste adheres to uneven surfaces to provide excellent moisture resistance. It maintains its stability over a wide temperature range and offers good adhesion to metals, rubbers, synthetic cables, insulation and covering. It also provides corrosion protection to a wide variety of electrical connections, pipe sealing and cable end sealing.
