Scotch-Weld DP8005 Clear 2L Structural Plastic Adhesive 3M

The structural adhesive 3MTM Scotch-WeldTM 8005 is one of our bicomponent acrylic adhesives with a 10:1 ratio, specially formulated to bond numerous low surface energy plastics. It adheres to numerous types of polypropylene, polyethylene and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) without the need to prepare the surfaces in a special way.

CHARACTERISTICS

• Its excellent resistance to water and moisture combined with very good resistance to chemical agents results in a bond capable of withstanding various applications and conditions.

Our structural adhesive 3MTM Scotch-WeldTM 8005 has been designed to manage adhesion problems normally associated with the bonding of low surface energy plastics. In addition to various plastics, it also joins a wide variety of substrates of different nature, such as metals, rubber, glass, ceramics and wood in a single step and without the need to prepare the surfaces, or with minimal preparation. All substrates should be clean, dry, and free of paint, rust, oils, dust, dehumidifiers, and other surface contaminants.

TECHNICAL DATA

This adhesive is a structural adhesive of medium viscosity with good control and which extends until the surface is sufficiently wet when applied. With a mixing ratio of 10:1, it has a mixing life of 3 minutes. It takes about 3 hours to hold parts and fully cure in 24 hours at room temperature 22 °C. Once bonded, this adhesive stands out for its excellent resistance to water, moisture, and chemicals.
