STANDARDS
- The certification EN ISO 20347:2012 (OB E SRC) refers to the requirements for work footwear that is not safety footwear. In this case, the OB designation indicates that it is work footwear without a safety toe. The E designation refers to energy absorption in the heel. On the other hand, the SRC designation indicates that the footwear has slip-resistant properties on both ceramic and steel floors with glycerin as a lubricant.

FITTING TIPS AND GUIDELINES
Size standards vary between different manufacturers, so we recommend ordering the size that normally fits you best. Shoes from Shoes For Crews aim to maintain consistent sizing across all different styles, and their sizes generally conform to European size standards. All available sizes are shown in the size selection dropdown on our website. If you are between sizes, we recommend ordering 1/2 size larger.
- The best time to measure and try on shoes is when your feet are at their largest, usually at the end of the afternoon or in the evening.
- Always try on your new shoes with the same socks that you will typically wear with this type of shoe.
- If you use your own insoles or orthotics inside your shoes, consider the additional volume when fitting new shoes. If your new shoes have a removable insole, remember to take it out and replace it with your own insole or orthotic. Insoles or orthotics affect how a shoe fits.
- Select the shoe style that best fits the shape of your foot.
- Make sure the widest part of your foot (the circumference around the ball) fits comfortably in the widest part of the shoe. Shoes should be as wide as your feet and one thumb (1/2 inch) longer than your longest toe when standing.
- Move your toes to ensure you have enough space for them.
- Do not select a shoe that is too small to avoid heel slippage. Your shoe should fit comfortably on the top of your foot, even if it is new.
- Boots provide more support and are more durable, but they can be heavier and less flexible at the top of the shoe.
- Try your new shoes at home or on a clean surface for a few minutes before deciding on their fit and comfort.
- Remember that the size of your feet changes as you age, typically getting larger.
- Do not buy shoes that are too tight and expect them to stretch to fit. They won't.
- Shoes with thick soles cushion your feet better on hard surfaces.
- A lace-up or Velcro® closure shoe generally fits better than a slip-on or heeled model.
- Low-heeled shoes are more comfortable and safer than high-heeled ones.
