ADJUST COUNCIL AND GUIDELINES
The size standards vary among the different manufacturers, so we recommend that you order the size you normally have better. Shoes For Crews's footwear attempts to maintain consistent sizes for all different styles, and their sizes generally fit European size standards. All available sizes are displayed in the Select size drop-down menu on our website. If you are between sizes, we recommend you order 1/2 size larger.
- The best time to measure and fit the shoes is when the feet are at their biggest point, usually at the end of the afternoon or at sunset.
- Always try to sock your new shoes with the same stockings/calcetines you will usually use with this type of shoe.
- If you use your own orthopaedic templates or appliances within your shoes, consider the additional volume when you heat new shoes. If your new shoes have a removable template, remember to remove it and replace it with your own template or orthesis. Templates or orthesis affect the way a shoe fits.
- Select the shoe style that best suits the shape of your foot.
- Make sure that the wider part of your foot (the circumference around the ball) fits comfortably into the wider part of the shoe. Shoes should be as wide as their feet and a thumb (1/2 inch) longer than the longest finger when standing.
- Move your toes to make sure you have enough space for them.
- Do not select a shoe too small to avoid slipping the heel. Your shoe should fit comfortably at the top of your foot, even if it is new.
- The boots provide more support and are more durable, but can be heavier and less flexible at the top of the shoe.
- Try your new shoes at home or on a clean surface for a few minutes before deciding your fit and comfort.
- Remember that the size of your feet changes as you age, they usually become bigger.
- Do not buy shoes too tight and expect them to stretch to adjust. They won't.
- The shoes with thick sole better cushion the feet on hard surfaces.
- A shoe with laces or Velcro® closure usually fits better than a model without laces or heel.
- Low heel shoes are more comfortable and safe than high heel shoes.
AND MARKET
EN ISO 20347:2012 (OB E SRC)
OB (Occupational Basic): This mark indicates that the footwear is suitable for use in a basic working environment, but it does not have additional protection as steel boards or specific protection elements.
SRC: This code refers to levels of resistance to slide. SRC is the highest level of certification that ensures that footwear meets slide tests on both ceramic and steel surfaces in wet conditions. This means it offers good traction and reduces the risk of slips.
EN ISO 20345:2022 The standard defines the basic and additional (optional) requirements of safety footwear. It includes, among others, mechanical risks, slip resistance, thermal risks and ergonomic behavior.
