Modaflame™

Garments can be layered to achieve a specific combined Arc Thermal Protection Value (ATPV) or a Break Energy Threshold (Ebt) level. For example, thermal underwear can reach an Ebt level of 4.3 Cal/cm², and an outer coverall can achieve an ATPV of 13.6 Cal/cm². However, the ATPV value of the combination will be greater than the sum of the values of the individual layers, as the air space between them provides additional protection to the user.
