The 3762 hot melt adhesive from 3M™ is an economical, fast-curing resin that is 100% solid. It is designed for general-purpose applications, as well as for manual and corrugated box sealing and general packaging tasks. When heated to its specific melting point, this adhesive creates a powerful hot tack that achieves piece hold in seconds, contributing to high production rates.
It represents an aggressive hot tack that quickly reaches handling strength for packaging and other applications.
Supply: 5 to 10 working days
FEATURES
- Its powerful hot tack quickly achieves piece hold for packaging tasks, among other applications.
- Medium open time allows for placement and adjustment of pieces.
- Securely bonds difficult-to-seal substrates, such as slightly waxed surfaces.
- It is virtually invisible when creating bonds, eliminating the need for mechanical fasteners and unsightly tapes.
- Bonds corrugated or cardboard boxes, wood, particle boards, chipboard, and cushioned foams.

BENEFITS
- Maintain production pace The 3762 hot melt adhesive from 3M™ is formulated to grip and seal quickly, thus meeting the demands of high-volume production environments such as packaging, carpentry, and assembly.
- Its performance increases the speed of box sealing.
- Bonds wood, cardboard, corrugated cardboard, and other fibrous substrates.
- Provides high shear strength and low peel strength. This means that packages will remain sealed and components will stay bonded under most conditions.
- Economical and safe.
- Hot melt adhesive applicators, commonly called "glue guns," are tools used to apply liquefied thermoplastic adhesives and are available in high and low-temperature versions.
- Low-temperature adhesive applicators operate at approximately 121 °C and are suitable for bonding heat-sensitive materials such as electronic components, plastics, and fabrics.
- High-temperature applicators operate at a minimum temperature of about 193 °C.
- The applicator creates a flow of adhesive when a solid adhesive stick is introduced into the heating chamber, where it melts through a fixed-temperature heating element.
- The melted adhesive exits through a nozzle via pneumatic pressure, a mechanical trigger mechanism, or by applying pressure directly to the stick.
- Nozzles can be changed to dispense the adhesive.
APPLICATIONS
- Sealing corrugated and manual cardboard boxes.
- General packaging applications.
- Securing supports and wooden reinforcements.
- Repackaging clustering.
- Point of sale displays.
- Trade shows.
TECHNICAL DATA
An open time of 30 seconds and a drop of 0.3 cm are sufficient to position and adjust pieces; this adhesive is suitable for high production rates in packaging, carpentry, and applications involving fibrous materials. This product is made with a 100% solid thermoplastic resin and is used with hot melt applicators from 3M™. This adhesive is a low volatility organic compound (VOC) that is virtually odorless when heated, contributing to more pleasant working environments.
