In different areas of work, workers are exposed to a high risk of falling from different heights, which can have serious consequences for workers, both from possible injuries and from more serious and even fatal circumstances. It is therefore necessary that, regardless of the sector and type of work in question, all workers have the appropriate Personal protective equipment they need to be able to carry out their work as safely as possible. With regard to falls into hazardous areas or into a vacuum, it is necessary to count on, in addition to PPE with elements and fall prevention devices designed to restrain the operator in the event of a fall or to reduce the likelihood of a fall. These elements include: Double 'Y' mooring element with energy absorber for scaffolding.

The Double 'Y' mooring element with energy absorber for scaffolding is a device incorporating a Y-shaped double safety cord energy absorber for work on 10,5 mm diameter ABM SCF scaffolding with eyelets at its ends. It is approved for use in areas at risk of explosion, the safety rope being made of polyester and the energy absorber of nylon. The muskets, on the other hand, are galvanized steel.

This type of anchorage, unless the manufacturer expressly states otherwise, is not designed to stop falls on its own without an absorber, an aspect which must be taken very seriously as omitting this point would create a situation of maximum danger. In order to be able to be used as an anti-roll system, these mounting elements must be attached to an energy absorber, bearing in mind that in this case the total length of the system must not exceed two metres and that both components must be compatible as specified by the absorber manufacturer.

Always remember the importance of all these types of safety features being in optimum condition to ensure that they function properly and that they do not present any type of damage that could compromise the safety and protection of those who are performing work at risk of falling at different levels.
