The Clean & Strip Scotch-Brite™ Roloc™ disc is used to effectively remove paint and rust from seams, door frames, drip edges, frames, and other tight areas. Our discs feature the Roloc attachment system, which makes changing discs quick and easy, making them ideal for multi-step finishing processes. The disc mounts quickly onto the attachment and backing* that can then be mounted on machines such as grinders and right-angle sanders. The discs contain silicon carbide minerals and non-woven nylon fibers with a resin that dissolves and breaks down over time, keeping the abrasive active and heat-resistant. Silicon carbide is a very sharp synthetic mineral commonly used in low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. It breaks down faster than aluminum oxide to achieve an excellent finish. The extra coarse mineral (XCS) works hard to remove corrosion and unwanted stains from various substrates. It aggressively removes paint and rust from seams, door frames, drip edges, welds, and other hard-to-reach areas. The non-woven technology makes Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives unique. We combine strands, resin, and abrasive minerals to form a thick, open mesh. The spring-like nature of the fibers responds to contours and effectively removes burrs, stains, and contaminants while maintaining the geometry of the workpiece, thereby reducing the need for rework and increasing productivity. The mesh holes allow chips to escape so debris does not clog the mineral.
