LIFETIME

Inspections: the equipment must be inspected every 12 months by an authorized person or by the manufacturer. Inspections must be recorded in the inspection sheet attached to the PPE along with the instruction manual.

The maximum lifespan is 5 years from the date of first use, unless the equipment is defective or has already been used to stop a fall, in which case it must be discarded immediately.

These sliding fall protection elements for use on a flexible anchorage line are combined subsystems with a fall protection harness that has an automatic lock connected to the flexible lifeline and also includes a lanyard ending in a connector, which can be installed as a means of energy dissipation between the sliding fall protection device and the anchorage line or an energy absorber can be incorporated into the anchorage line or the lanyard.
