STANDARDS
EN361 - Personal protective equipment against falls from height. Fall protection harnesses.
EN362 - Personal protective equipment against falls from height. Connectors.
EN355 - Personal protective equipment against falls from height. Energy absorbers.
LIMITATIONS OF USE
- The equipment must be assigned individually to a person. - It is recommended that the anchorage point where the fall protection system will be fixed is above the user. The anchorage point must have a minimum static strength of 12 kN and must comply with the requirements of the EN 795 standard.WARNING
- A fall protection harness is the only acceptable body restraint device that can be used in a fall protection system. - The fall protection system must be connected only to the connection points of the harness that are identified with the uppercase letter “A”. The identification “A/2” indicates that it is necessary to connect two connection points with the same identification at the same time. It is prohibited to connect the protection system to a single connection point identified with “A/2”. - In harnesses with an integrated belt, the connection for positioning work must be made only to the lateral anchorage rings of the belt. - The connection to the anchorage point and to other equipment must be made through carabiners in accordance with EN 362:2004. - For use with fall protection EN 353-1:2014+A1:2017, EN 353-2:2002, it is recommended to connect the equipment to the front anchorage point of the harness. For use with energy absorbers EN 355 or with fall protection EN 360, it is recommended to connect the equipment to the dorsal anchorage point of the harness. - Before each use of the personal protective equipment, it must be carefully inspected to ensure that it is in usable condition and functioning correctly. - During the pre-use check, it is necessary to carefully inspect all elements of the equipment to verify that they do not show signs of deterioration, excessive wear, corrosion, abrasions, UV radiation degradation, cuts, and misuse. Pay special attention to the webbing, seams, anchorage rings, buckles, and adjustment elements.SERVICE LIFE
The estimated service life of the equipment is 11 years from the date of manufacture (1 year of storage and 10 years of use). The following factors may reduce the product's service life: intensive use, contact with chemicals, particularly aggressive environments, exposure to extreme temperatures, exposure to ultraviolet rays, abrasion, cuts, strong impacts, or improper use and maintenance. The mandatory annual inspection will validate the correct functioning of the equipment. It is mandatory that the equipment be examined by the manufacturer or by an authorized person at least once a year. In the event of a fall, the equipment must be removed from use.MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
- CLEANING: Personal protective equipment must be cleaned in a way that does not cause adverse effects on the materials used in the manufacture of the equipment. For textile and plastic materials (webbing, ropes), clean with a cotton cloth or a brush. Do not use any abrasive materials. For deep cleaning, wash the equipment at a temperature between 30ºC and 60ºC using a neutral detergent. For metal parts, use a damp cloth. If the equipment gets wet, either from use or cleaning, it should be allowed to dry naturally, away from direct heat.
- STORAGE: Personal protective equipment should be stored in loose packaging, in a dry, ventilated place, protected from sunlight, ultraviolet rays, dust, sharp-edged objects, extreme temperatures, and aggressive substances.
