High visibility headband forestry earmuff X4A-OR PELTOR 3M

The PELTOR™ X4 earmuffs from 3M™ are our lightweight and slim hearing protectors with innovative foam inserts for the ear cups and spacers to help increase attenuation and protect against low frequencies. Available as a headband, helmet attachment, and neckband. The headband model features a double headband with electrical insulation that reduces heat buildup on the top of the head. Depending on user preferences or application needs, there are helmet-mounted versions available with dielectric electrical insulation or with robust metal arms.

For high-performance hearing protection against moderate to high noise levels, use the 3M™ PELTOR™ X4 earmuffs. The 3M PELTOR X4 earmuffs have a bright green high visibility color code, making it easy to select the correct level of protection from the X series range. Our earmuffs, which combine 3M's legendary expertise in hearing protection with advanced technology, include a specially designed spacer and pad technology that helps improve noise reduction without increasing volume or weight. The result is that the X4 is lightweight and even more aerodynamic compared to other high attenuation earmuffs, while reducing noise by up to 32 dB. The headband model features a double headband design with electrical insulation that helps reduce heat buildup on the top of the head, and the plastic-coated stainless steel wire makes the headband the most robust offered by 3M. They are durable and comfortable, as the wide, flat headband has a soft plastic coating that provides stable pressure on the top of the head. There is no exposed metal, meaning the product is "dielectric," providing electrical resistance in applications with a risk of sparks or discharges. The carefully molded sliders ensure that the earmuffs fit easily on the head. The wide, soft foam pads help keep users comfortable, while the slim cups offer greater compatibility with other protective equipment. The helmet-mounted version is a product that meets the needs of the job or user preferences and is available as P5 with the same dielectric performance as the headband model. Alternatively, if the application does not require electrical insulation, the P3 helmet-mounted model and neckband are available. The padding and foam inserts, available as hygiene kits, are easy to replace if worn or damaged, helping to extend the product's lifespan.

REGULATIONS

All hearing protectors sold in Europe, in order to protect the user against harmful noise, must have CE approval. This is generally done by testing the product against the relevant parts of the family of harmonized European standards, EN 352.

Following a periodic review, the revised EN 352 family of standards was published in 2020. For more information on this update, please refer to the 3M technical bulletin “Regulatory Updates - EN 352:2020.”

When certifying hearing protectors according to the harmonized European standard (whether passive or electronic), they must meet the requirements of one of the following three standards as applicable for a specific device.
