The mixing ratio of the epoxy adhesive 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ DP100 Plus has a 1:1 ratio for quick and precise dispensing; its mixing life of 3 to 5 minutes allows for repositioning of materials and maintaining the production pace of projects. The adhesive achieves bond strength in about 20 minutes and fully cures in 48 hours at 22 °C. What are epoxy adhesives? Epoxy adhesives, including the 5-minute epoxy, are part of the family of so-called "structural adhesives," which also includes acrylics, polyurethanes, and cyanoacrylates. Epoxies are formulated as liquid reactive polymers that undergo a chemical reaction when mixed and then cure to form a solid plastic material. Once the two components are mixed in the specified ratio, the curing process begins; they offer a limited mixing life during which the adhesive can be applied and the two surfaces can be positioned as needed.
