STANDARDS AND APPROVALS

The protective face shields of the 5 and X5 series from 3MTM meet the requirements of the PPE regulation (EU) 2016/425 and bear the CE mark. These products have been examined by DIN CERTCO Gesellschaft für Konformitätsbewertung mbH, Alboinstrasse 56, 12103, Berlin (Germany) (notified body number 0196). The 5 and X5 series from 3MTM have been tested and approved according to the EN 166:2001 standard.

Filtering performance:

5 = Welding filter, tone 5 (EN 169) 2C-1.2 = UV filter, tone 1.2 (EN 170) 5-3.1 = Anti-reflective filter, tone 3.1 (EN 172)

Optical clarity:

The allowed variation in refractive powers for optical devices is evaluated during product certification. Class 1 is the highest performance class in terms of optical clarity.

Impact performance:

The 5E-11, 5F-11, and X5 series meet the requirement for protection against high-speed particles for medium energy impacts (mark B [120 m/s]). Additionally, the X5-SV series meets this requirement after conditioning for a thermal range of 55 °C and -5 °C (mark BT). The 5A-CP model meets the requirement for protection against high-speed particles for low energy impacts (mark F [45 m/s]).

Fields of use:

The face shields of the 5 series meet the optional requirements for protection against liquid splashes (mark 3).

Optional requirements:

The 5A-CP and X5 series meet the anti-fogging requirements (mark N). Additionally, the X5 series meets the requirements for resistance to surface damage caused by fine particles (mark K).
