WHAT IS A FOREST FIRE BEATER?

A forest fire beater is a tool used to fight forest fires, especially in their early stages. It consists of a rubber flap attached to a long handle, usually made of aluminium, which is used to strike and smother the flames, depriving them of oxygen. It can also be used to turn over vegetation and create firebreaks.

The fire beater, or fire-extinguishing paddle, is a tool designed to put out fire by smothering (displacing the air), consisting of a metal handle or shaft ending in a self-extinguishing rubber paddle or beater. The fire beater with telescopic duralumin handle does not rust.

The handle and the beater or fire-extinguishing paddle are perfectly bonded together by a vulcanisation process, making the fire beater a single, fixed unit with no need for rivets, screws or any other fastening element.

HOW IS THE FIRE BEATER USED?

The fire beater is used with a direct attack technique on the flames, the aim of which is to smother the fire by removing the oxygen that feeds it. To use it correctly, strike firmly at the base of the flames, pressing the paddle against the seat of the fire for about 2 seconds. Then pull it back towards the area that has already burned and repeat the movement in a rhythmic, controlled way, gradually covering the fire line.

There are various fire protection devices on the market, along with other equipment prepared to tackle fire whenever necessary, one of which is the FFB01 fixed fire beater and the FFB02 telescopic fire beater.

The FFB01 fixed and FFB02 telescopic fire beaters are tools designed to put out fire using the smothering technique, that is, displacing the air. This tool consists of a metal handle ending in a self-extinguishing rubber paddle or beater, which makes it a highly recommended item for any facility where work is carried out with substances or elements that may be flammable or may give rise to a fire.

The handle and the beater or paddle are perfectly bonded together thanks to a vulcanisation process, making the FFB01 fixed and FFB02 telescopic fire beaters a single unit that needs no additional fastening element such as screws or rivets.

This particular model, which has a rubber grip to give the user much more comfortable handling, has a beater measuring 250 mm wide x 500 mm high and 6 mm thick, with a total length of the complete assembly when extended of approximately 1950 mm. Collapsed, its length is 1280 mm and the total weight is 1,8 kilograms.

The handle has an outer diameter of 30 mm and an inner diameter of 25 mm, and is made from a rustproof duralumin tube with a smooth finish, recovery after bending and exceptional resistance to breakage.

The ribbed beater or paddle of the FFB01 fixed and FFB02 telescopic fire beaters is made of synthetic, fire self-extinguishing rubber with a thickness of 6 mm. The whole beater is reinforced with fabric to offer greater tear resistance, with double reinforcement in critical areas.
