Workers whose jobs involve climbing heights cannot operate without personal fall protection equipment. It is essential, for example, to have a harness that fits perfectly and is easy to use. With its Ignite Series, SKYLOTEC sets new standards in terms of comfort and ergonomics. And now the fall protection equipment manufacturer has developed a new model, the “Ignite Niob,” which replaces the “ARG 62 Multi Access.” The harness is the first 6-point harness in the range and is extremely versatile. It can be used, for example, by people working in steel construction or energy supply, technicians in rope access work, or emergency services. The “Ignite Niob” is certified according to EN 361 as a fall arrest system and according to EN 358 for keeping workers in position and providing support in areas where there is a risk of falling. It also has EN 813 certification for keeping workers seated while working freely suspended from a rope. The model also features a combined descent and rappel eye in the chest area. This allows for safely and effortlessly descending heavy loads on rappel. The distance between the front eyes is specifically designed for use with a Radeberger hook, which is used for rappelling accident victims. Certainly, there are no shortage of intelligent details to enhance the comfort of users of the “Ignite Niob.” The newest member of the Ignite series, like all other models, features high-quality padding that conforms to the shape of the human anatomy and ensures optimal weight distribution on the hips. This is a real relief, as until now the weight generally rested on the shoulders for several hours a day. This meant that users often had to deal with pressure points and considerable pain and muscle tension in the neck and shoulder areas. Another problem that many workers will know: when they are moving for long periods, the straps tend to loosen by themselves. They then have to keep tightening them again. A new adjuster now prevents the harness from loosening during constant movement.

Another important factor is that the equipment must be as easy to use as possible for workers. That’s why SKYLOTEC has chosen a cleverly designed color system for all models in the Ignite series. Orange contrast elements are used on the upper part of the harness and gray on the lower part. This makes it easy to recognize where the top and bottom of the harness are, even when the user has not yet put on the harness. Additionally, the main anchor points of all models are bright orange to clearly label them. This way, accidental anchoring on incorrect eyes or loops, which are not designed to hold in case of a fall, can be avoided. Details like these are particularly important when inexperienced individuals use the harness. As they do not have a particular routine, there is a greater risk of accidents for them due to the incorrect use of their personal fall protection equipment.
