APPLICATIONS

USAGE REQUIREMENTS

This pulley is designed to be part of a fall protection harness system, rescue, securing for work or load transportation.

- The pulley must always be used with both plates closed and locked with an appropriate connector. Care must be taken not to rest the weight on the smaller axis of the axle, against its axes, or on a structure or anchor point, unless it is specifically designed for that. The size of the wheel varies depending on the pulley. Therefore, it is important to ensure that its use is suitable for the rope system you are using (consult the table for more information about the different rope sizes).

- NEVER use a pulley with an aluminum wheel with steel cables, as its wear rate would be affected. IRUDEK recommends using only stainless steel wheels and preferably stainless steel side plates. The pulley must be used in systems that comply with international standards or recommended practices in the industry regarding their specific uses, and the anchor point must be able to support the corresponding loads. It is recommended that a qualified person verify the suitability of all installations. This product should be used with extreme caution in the vicinity of harmful chemicals, moving machinery, any electrical hazards, sharp edges, and abrasive surfaces.

- Moisture and ice can cause the wheel to slip. Therefore, extra care will be necessary if the product is used under these circumstances. Special note: The RP700 product has a one-way locking support point, so the wheel only rotates in one direction. For this reason, the RP700 does not have CE approval despite meeting all testing requirements. When used with a traction system, it must be locked in the downward direction to increase friction (reduce shearing) and provide additional control. Other pulleys can be modified to convert them into reduced shearing versions.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION

It is important to perform visual checks of the product immediately before, during, and after use to ensure it is in perfect condition and functioning correctly. In addition to these routine checks, it is recommended that the equipment be inspected semi-annually by qualified personnel. Visually inspect the plates, wheels, and axles of the pulley for possible damage or failures, check that the engraving is legible, and ensure that moving parts operate correctly. High temperatures, chemicals, rust, cuts, and abrasions can negatively affect the characteristics of the equipment. Keep in mind that if the pulley is used in hostile environments (e.g., places with dust, sand, or mud), it should be inspected more frequently and its lifespan may be reduced. Cleaning This product can be regularly cleaned (even after each use in marine environments) with a mild detergent. It should then be allowed to air dry. If desired, you can lubricate the moving parts periodically with a WD40 type lubricant or a dry PTFE lubricant.
