The structural adhesive 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ 8005 is one of our two-component acrylic adhesives with a 10:1 ratio, specially formulated to bond numerous low surface energy plastics. It adheres to various types of polypropylene, polyethylene, and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) without the need for special surface preparation.

Our structural adhesive 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ 8005 has been designed to address adhesion issues typically associated with bonding low surface energy plastics. In addition to various plastics, it also bonds a wide variety of substrates of different natures, such as metals, rubber, glass, ceramics, and wood in a single step and without the need for surface preparation, or with minimal preparation. It is advisable that all substrates are clean, dry, and free of paint, rust, oils, dust, release agents, and other surface contaminants.

TECHNICAL DATA

A material that is fast and reliable. This adhesive is a medium-viscosity structural adhesive with good control and spreads to sufficiently wet the surface when applied. With a mixing ratio of 10:1, it has a mixing life of 3 minutes. It achieves piece holding in about 3 hours and fully cures in 24 hours at room temperature 22 °C. Once bonded, this adhesive stands out for its excellent resistance to water, moisture, and chemical agents.
