Suspension in a harness can cause blood to collect in the veins of the legs, resulting in unconsciousness. If you are not rescued promptly, you could suffer serious injury and even death. The Suspension Trauma seat belt has been designed to prevent suspension sickness while a worker awaits rescue. The Trauma suspension safety belt allows the worker, who is suspended, to stand upright on his harness and thus relieve pressure on the arteries and veins at the top of his legs.
The continuous loop design allows both sides of the harness to release pressure on the legs. The strap allows one or both feet to be in the loop at the same time. In this way the pressure on both sides will be released with only one foot on it, allowing greater movement of the legs. The strap provides greater comfort, balance and better circulation in the legs while suspended awaiting rescue.
