The safety strap for suspension trauma allows the suspended worker to stand up in their harness and relieve the pressure applied to the arteries and veins around the upper legs.

The continuous loop design allows both sides of the harness to relieve pressure applied to the legs. The strap accommodates having one foot or both feet in the loop at the same time, relieving pressure on both sides with just one foot to allow for greater leg movement.

The strap provides greater comfort, balance, and better circulation in the legs while suspended and waiting for rescue.

APPLICATIONS

The safety strap for suspension trauma was designed to help the worker overcome the potential negative health impacts of suspension trauma (also known as orthostatic intolerance).

This condition can occur when a person remains suspended at height (after a fall) even for short periods of time. Suspension in a harness can cause blood to pool in the veins of the legs, which can lead to loss of consciousness; if not rescued immediately, serious injuries or death can occur.
