Speed reducer 7000095013 of 7 cm height 3M (black/yellow, length 60 cm, width 50 cm), made of black rubber with high retro-reflective yellow stripes.
The speed reducers from 3M are devices made with vulcanized rubber modules, which are elevated above the asphalt and feature reflective yellow bands and non-slip markings from 3M™ Stamark™ Series 651. These speed reducers can only be installed in urban residential areas, public and private parks, or parking lots.

The 7 cm ones are for speeds below 30 km/h.
The 7 cm high reducer has a different fitting: female piece and male piece. One end will have a male terminal and the other end a female terminal. The terminals are designed to appear rounded, so there is no bump on the ground.

The contrast between both materials makes them very visible both day and night. They are very easy to install by assembling the interlocking modules, which are then fixed to the ground with screws. Their design allows for perfect drainage.
NORMATIVES
The speed reducers from 3M are elevated devices made of modular elements of vulcanized natural rubber, with inserts of reflective and non-slip yellow tape 3M Stamark Series A651.
In Italy, their use is regulated by the New Italian Traffic Code (art. 42) and by Law Decree No. 495 of 16.12.92. The three types of reducers are approved in that country.
In Spain, for the RIGE, these devices are mentioned in Royal Decree 1428/2003 General Traffic Regulation, although their complete regulatory development is pending. In this context, different Autonomous Communities / Local Corporations have established specific regulations.
They are effective in reducing vehicle speed and preserving pedestrian safety in urban areas (low-speed zones and heavy traffic).
The three types of speed reducers from 3M have been approved by the Italian government for different installations.
DIMENSIONS
A speed reducer is a set of assembled elements that form a transverse band over the roadway, to induce drivers to reduce their vehicle speed. They are made of rubber and covered with yellow reflective tape to enhance their visibility.
• 7cm For speeds <30 km/h Each element of the reducer consists of two pieces (male and female) that in turn assemble with the other elements of the set.
• Accepts rounded pieces at the ends and are fixed to the ground with 4 screws per piece.
The modules of any type have fittings that facilitate composition and distribute the stresses over the series.
The 5 and 7 cm versions also have terminal closure modules of the series.

The elements of this series are divided into two pieces: overlapping male and female, for reasons of weight and dimensions.
- Central elements (male and female): 50 x 120 cm (= 2 x 60 cm). It is necessary to take 1 male and 1 female.
- Fixed with 6 screws.
- Terminals (male and female): 30 x 120 cm (= 2 x 60 cm). It is necessary to take 1 male and 1 female.
- Fixed with 3 screws.

INSTALLATION
The installation of the speed reducers is carried out using screws and expansion plugs that allow for optimal anchoring to the ground during their useful life and the eventual removal of the elements.
Once the elements are placed and combined in the final arrangement, one can proceed to drill the pavement with a 10 mm drill bit to a depth of 140 mm. Next, the modules are removed to insert the plugs into the holes; reposition the speed reducers in their correct final position and screw the screws into the plugs.
It is important that the position of the screw within the hole is perpendicular to the pavement, to ensure the correct distribution of stresses across the entire element. It is also necessary to use steel washers of appropriate dimensions.
Important:
- The anchoring system described is the only one that meets our technical specifications approved by the Italian Ministry of Public Works.
- 3M does not assume responsibility for applications made using other mechanical devices or adhesive techniques.
- The use of any type of adhesive instead of the expansion plug should be avoided, as it prevents rainwater flow beneath the speed reducer and its possible removal.
- Special attention should be paid to pavements or different load types normally present on our streets; on very rigid surfaces (such as concrete).
- They are especially recommended for urban areas, discouraging their installation on high-speed roads as well as on roads subjected to heavy vehicle flow.
