Working at heights involves different risks for workers, with the potential fall from different levels being undoubtedly the main risk faced by these professionals, who must therefore always be equipped with the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to carry out their tasks with the highest level of protection and safety possible. Beyond their own PPE, other means of protection and elements that are of great importance must be used, such as lifelines, a system designed to be placed permanently or temporarily in buildings that allows workers to carry out their activities properly protected against heights. To use these elements, other components such as the Flexible Lifeline Fall Arrest Element EN353-2 (ref. AC040) must be used.
The Flexible Lifeline Fall Arrest Element EN353-2 (ref. AC040) is made of stainless steel and is designed to be placed over an 11 mm diameter polyamide rope. It is prepared to be used by one person and the harness can be connected directly to the device.
Lifelines or safety lines consist of different elements that must always be regulated by anchoring regulations, taking into account that depending on the type of work to be performed by professionals, it may be necessary to use one element or another, and that there are different types of lifelines. The personnel in charge of Occupational Risk Prevention (PRP) must thoroughly assess the risks faced by their workers and provide them with all the means and equipment necessary to carry out their tasks with maximum safety.
It is important that all these elements are always in perfect condition, so they must be periodically inspected according to the manufacturer's instructions, and replaced in case they show any type of deficiency or deterioration that could endanger the worker. Therefore, any element of the fall arrest system must be replaced if it shows any anomaly.
