If you need P3 R respiratory protection with a surface area greater than most standard filters on the market, use the 3M™ 6000 series particle filters. The surface area is 1.8 times greater than that of the 3M™ 2000 series particle filters and can extend the product's lifespan depending on usage. Our particle filters offer low breathing resistance and a good balance when fitted to the mask, and are designed to optimize the field of vision.

Its spring mechanism allows the user to easily and quickly check if the facepiece is functioning properly every time the filters are used. They attach quickly and easily and can be used on all reusable 3M™ masks with a bayonet connection. The hard and durable casing is used to protect the filters in demanding environments where simple protection and decontamination are required. Additionally, the hard casing supplied with the 3M™ 6038 particle filter also protects against sparks and high temperatures.

FILTER DURABILITY

In industrial environments, the lifespan of the filters depends on factors such as humidity, concentration of contaminants in the environment, temperature, usage time… and they should be replaced when breathing resistance is noticed or if an odor or taste of the contaminant being exposed to is perceived. Given the variety of work environments, each with its own characteristics, we cannot precisely indicate the durability of the filters.

Generally, the lifespan of the filters is 5 years from manufacturing, but it is recommended not to use them beyond 6 months from their first use unless one of the reasons for their replacement mentioned in the previous paragraph has been met. (The lifespan of an unopened chemical filter is usually indicated on its label. Once the filter is unsealed, even if unused, it has a maximum duration of 6 months, regardless of the expiration date indicated).
